A Show-Stopping Scalloped Acrylic Cover
First impressions are everything, and this album makes a statement right from the very start! The outer structure features custom, 4 1/2" x 7 1/2" clear acrylic covers with a uniquely designed scalloped edge. Because the acrylic is crystal clear, you get a beautiful glimpse of the cheerful, starburst-patterned patterned paper peek through from inside, while the gorgeous scalloped edge arches gracefully down the side.

To give it that signature Fords Unique Creations touch of charm, the binder rings are tied with a gorgeous cluster of coordinating, high-quality ribbons in shades of vintage rose, soft peach, and slate blue. These ribbons add movement, texture, and that delightful "chunky mini album" feel whenever you pick it up.
On the front cover, you’re greeted by bright floral layered ephemera, colorful fluttering butterflies, a cozy little frame tag that says "LOVE THIS LIFE", and bold typography declaring the album's theme: YOU MAKE ME SMILE.

For this project, I used the vibrant Shimelle Main Character Energy paper collection. If you’re familiar with Shimelle’s designs, you know she has a brilliant way of blending joyful, retro-inspired palettes with playful, everyday motifs. Think punchy teal, deep navy, warm mustard yellow, playful pinks, and rich purples paired with rainbows, butterflies, sunshine, and cheerful geometric patterns.
While the outer front and back covers are made from durable, clear scalloped acrylic, all five interior pages are built on thick, sturdy white cardstock bases. This provides a solid, long-lasting foundation that won't warp, buckle, or bow once you add your heavy photographs, thick ephemera, and handwritten notes.
