Hello, fellow paper crafters and memory keepers! Welcome back to my craft corner. Today, I am absolutely thrilled to share a colorful burst of pure joy that has been sitting on my dynamic workspace. We are diving deep into a gorgeous five-card collection created with the breathtaking Doodlebug Butterfly Kisses Suite, paired perfectly with the delightful Doodlebug Rainbow Assortment cards and envelopes. There is something completely magical about opening a new collection from Doodlebug Design. The whimsical patterns, the smiling little critters, and that distinctively vibrant color palette have a spectacular way of making you feel like a kid in a candy shop. For this project, I wanted to showcase the incredible versatility of the Butterfly Kisses Suite by creating five distinctly unique handmade cards. Each card highlights a different focal element ranging from cheerful clouds and hopping frogs to wandering snails and blooming bicycles while utilizing the fun specialty matching envelopes that make the Rainbow Assortment so beloved by paper crafters worldwide.

Design Tip from the Craft Table: When working with high-pattern collections like Doodlebug, balance is your best friend. Utilize textured cardstock strips, scalloped borders, and precise foam dimension to lift your cute elements off the busy background paper, making your focal designs pop effortlessly!

Card 1: You Brighten My Day (Pink Suite)

Our first card centers around everything sweet, bright, and wonderfully pink. Designed on a standard base and beautifully paired with a vibrant hot pink specialty envelope, this card is like an instant smile in standard mail format. For the background, I layered a soft, beautiful floral paper featuring shades of lilac, pink, and tiny yellow accents. Across the center, a bold lime-green textured cardstock strip anchors the entire design, establishing a stark contrast that instantly catches the eye.

The star of the show is the sweet, smiling white cloud doodle pop element. Tumbling out from beneath the cloud is a delightful cascade of pastel rainbow stripes, bringing a magnificent sense of motion to the stationery. A darling yellow butterfly fluttering close by adds an extra layer of whimsical dimension. To finish the design, I added a white speech bubble sentiment reading "HELLO," matched with a beautifully scalloped banner reading "you brighten my day." This combination creates a heartfelt greeting that feels warm, personal, and utterly charming.

Card 2: Let Your Light Shine (Teal Suite)

Moving along our rainbow spectrum, the second card embraces refreshing cool tones, featuring a gorgeous teal envelope that screams clear spring skies. The foundation paper for this card features an incredibly adorable repeat pattern of smiling white clouds set against tiny rainbow backgrounds. To create a grounded structural focal point, the bottom third of the card features a rich, textured raspberry/pink cardstock panel.

Above them, a soft pastel dragonfly and a playful yellow butterfly soar through the air, elevated with dimensional foam tape. The sentiment banner along the bottom is grounded by a grass-green scalloped border, carrying the inspiring message: "let your light shine." Sprinkles of pastel enamel dots are scattered around the layout, mimicking glistening morning dew drops.

Card 3: Happy Birthday Little Snail (Orange Suite)

Who says snails have to be slow? This cute tri fold landscape card is built directly onto a warm orange base from the Doodlebug Rainbow Assortment. It features an exquisite, cascading scalloped front flap that adds instant interactive interest to your cardmaking repertoire. The hidden interior panel peeks through with a subtle, golden-yellow micro-dot pattern, providing a soft background for the delightful scenery.

Anchoring the top flap is a beautiful, horizontal bubblegum pink strip. Placed right in the center is an adorable, smiling garden snail making its way through a lush patch of pastel wildflowers. Floating gracefully above our slow-moving friend is a soft blue banner carrying a crisp "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" greeting. This clever layout utilizes a wonderful horizontal orientation that makes it perfect for displaying on a mantlepiece or desk, reminding the lucky recipient to slow down and enjoy their special day. This inside of the card is even more adorable! The garden cart, fun frog and playmates say this is “especially for you”.

Card 4: Hello Sunshine Bicycle (Green Suite)

Next up is a true celebration of summer bliss! Set against a brilliant lime-green envelope, this landscape card is an absolute showstopper. The background matting features an elegant, airy white paper adorned with delicate floral sprigs, fluttering butterflies, and buzzing bumblebees. This clean background keeps the intricate focal point readable, crisp, and beautifully framed.

The main element is a stunning vintage cruiser bicycle in a soft pink hue, complete with a front basket and rear rack overflowing with multi-colored flowers. Look closely, and you'll find a tiny green frog hitching a ride on the rear! A beautiful basket of flowers rest on the front wheel, while a bright yellow sentiment strip anchoring the bottom proclaims "hello sunshine."
